Kathy is an award winning painter and teacher with artworks in many private and corporate collections.  A Southern California native, she has also lived in Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest.  These beautiful places, in combination with her travels throughout Mexico, Central America, and the South Pacific influence her approach to art making.  Collectors recognize Kathy's paintings for their exuberant color and sense that she paints the natural world as she would like it to look.  She works in pastel, mixed media and oil paints.

 

Kathy holds a bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Marylhurst University, Portland Oregon.  She continues to study under some of the country's best known painters through workshops and continuing education courses.  She is a juried member of Pastel Society of America, United Society of Pastel Artists, Southern California Plein Air Painters Association, and Laguna Plein Air Painters Association.

 

Most recently, her pastel "Autumn Puddle," was awarded second place in the Professional division at the annual membership competition/show of the United Society of Pastel Artists.  She is represented by Laguna North Gallery in Laguna Beach, California.
